Subject: [CR] Reynolds 708 tubing?

Dear List:

I'm looking at a frame (which is at least KOF) that is made from Reynolds 708 tubing.  I thought for sure that this was a mistake, but if you google, Reynolds 708 is a straight gauge tube with reinforcing ribs, ala Columbus SLX/SPX.  Date of manufacture is no more specific than "in the 80's".  Does any one have info on this tubing?  Quality, durability, stiffness, etc etc?  As it didn't last in the Reynolds lineup very long, it can't have been super great, but was there a specific flaw that killed it?

As a hefty fella (around 110 kilos), would this be a good match?  Any info appreciated.  I tried the archives, but couldn't get in today for some reason.
