I've put some SOMEC history in my blog here: http://italiancyclingjournal.blogspot.com/2009/11/somec.html

I need some info. re: Somec racing machines as described below. As far as I know, all items are original to the bike...I took it to a local shop and they told me the gruppo was Chorus. The bike has been stripped, cleaned , and polished. Also, it has been touched up where needed. All chrome is in good shape.

"Somec White Road Bike 54.5cm (Seat tube and Top tube c to c). Early Campy Chorus gruppo, Chainrings 52-42 w/ a 170 crankarm. ReginaExtra \u2013BX six speed free wheel, 14-24 w Regina chain. Cinelli bars 66-40 w/110 Cinelli stem w/oval Logo. New white tape on bars.Downtube shifters 32hole Nisi clincher rims w/Michelin 700x20 Hi-Lite Super Comp HD tires. WhiteTurbo Saddle and earlyLook Pedals."
>From the description can anyone tell approximately what year this bike was built?? My guess would be around '83.

What type of Columbus tubing would have been used??

Are there any websites for Somec owners?? Or where I could get specific information about the brand?

Before I put a price tag on it, I sure would like to talk to someone knowledgeable about the brand.

Thanks,

Dick Wright Berwyn, Pa.
