A couple of days ago a friend sent me a classified ad he had found offering a chrome '63 Paramount 22" (my size) track bike in as new condition except for the decals with all the proper goodies (inch pitch drive, even!) and including an extra set of wheels for $900. Faster than a speeding bullet I leapt into action, writing the seller and telling him that if it were still available, I'd take it.
He wrote back to tell me that it had sold immediately: back in 2003! The ad had been hanging in limbo in Cyberspace all that time. I've heard of this happening before. I'm wondering of anyone has thought to set up a space or site for such things that no longer have any validity that are still hanging around? It sure would be neat if such a place existed for cycling related items.
I'll bet there some interesting stories lurking on the list, too!
