Hello all,

I was directed to this list from the Schwinn forum. My name is Stephen Pool. Last weekend I rescued a 1973 Schwinn Paramount Deluxe P15-9. I was out biking and doing errands on my Ross Eurotour and I decided to swing by a favorite local bar to check on renovations when I came across dusty gold. Abandoned with a big FREE sign, a mess of sad junker bikes, along with old RCA televisions and busted speakers. At first I only saw the televisions and speakers. Then as I was about to leave I spotted the group of bikes. I noticed right that one of these did not belong with the rest. Sure enough I had discovered a dusty nugget of Schwinn glory! (#B73274) I hurried back to my apartment and parked the Ross. Hardly believing my good luck, right in my backyard!, I walked back the few blocks to claim my treasure. I have always enjoyed vintage bikes. I rely on biking as my main transportation mode and also enjoy it immensely! My Paramount cleaned up to pure beauty. The bike is in great shape! A two days of cleaning and half can of WD40 it shines in glory. All components are present and in working order. It has has the Campagnolo components and Superbe brakes and Suntour shifters. The bike was dirty and dusty but had been stored indoors! No real problem rust and the color, I have learned its Silver Mist, just sparkles. The only missing the elements are the Campy 27.2 seat post and Brooks Pro saddle, otherwise, no problems! I am looking to obtain these and I would appreciate any helpful information! I am already enjoying miles on the bike thanks to a spare rig. I also look forward to sharing in this great heritage of cycling conversation. Til next time.

Best, Stephen Pool
