Subject: [CR] Thinning the Herd..

I must apologise to those member of the CR LIst who wrote on and off the List, for the almost 24 hour delay in posting the prices of the members of the Herd that I have decided to part with.

Unfortunately a scheduled meeting with my doctor for a quick routine check-up before I quit these shores for my impending holiday in France, turned out to be quite and ordeal, ending up in screen full of graphs supplied by wores stuck to various parts of my anatomy. You know what they say "...the best laid plans...!

Posting these prices is going to be difficult because I have NEVER..that's correct never..sold a part of my collection..so that's a lot of never selling..

I have tried to approach pricing by using criteria such as a frame's desirability, rarity, uniqueness, quality of build..and standard of paintwork...bearing in mind that two of the frames have brand spanking new finishes, a third has received two new top coats over an almost impeccable finish.. the fourth was refinished only a matter of a couple of months ago, and the last, the MKM is in quite good nick in any case.

So here goes..If you want to shoot me down..verbally abuse me..please do it off List. Remember I still have my Learner plates on in this Department...and I really don't want to sell off these members of my family

I have also taken time to take precise measurements of the frames, so here goes:

*MKM Ultimate* 22.5" (23 with upstand), 20.75 top-tube, 14.5" rear stays, 22 front end, 36" wheelbase - V FAST *-£395* *Gillott Road-Track -*mid 50s - 22.5" seat tube, 22.5" top-tube, 17" chainstays, 23.5" front end, 40.5 WB-* £475* *Bespoke Randonneur -* 25" seat, 22.5" top-tube, 17.5 chainstays, 23.5" front end, 41 WB - *£475* *Bespoke Hilly Time-Trial *24" (25.5 with upstand) 22.5 top-tube, 16.25 chainstays 23.5 front-end, 39.75 WB -*£575* *Ron Cooper-*22"(22.25 with upstand) 22 top-tube, 16.5 chainstays 22.75 front end,39.25 WB -*£565*

The cost of carriage by Fed-EX would be from around £70 + insurance

Justifications..the two Bespokes are unique and I would like to think desirable, the MKM is rare, the Gillott very desirable but by no means unique ( I have several others), the Ron Cooper is elegant, desirable but not unique.

I would in any case like some feedback because I would like to sell other frames such as an 50s RO Harrison Road-track (newly renovated and superb), a newly renovated 40s HIGGINS Ultralite Road-track, a FREJUS Track (Immaculate and newly renovated) two late 50s NOS FiORELLI International road frames,( great paint and chrome)..then there are Hetchins, Bates, Rotrax, Holdsworth, Claud Butler, some more Gillotts and all manner of other brands..

Worse still than thinning out this herd, I have, today, agreed an offer on my 1962 HEINKEL Kabine-Cruiser "bubble-car". I bought this about 40 years ago, with the intention of reviving it to Concours condition..But as my wife always reminds me..I am always full of the best of intentions.

I'm happy to provide any other info you might need, and will reply to other detailed emails already received ASAP..but it's now 01.00 and the medic said I needed to get more sleep..so I'm out of here, to bed, for a few hours.
