Subject: [CR] Thinning the Herd..

I am writing to convey my sincere apologies to the Listers who have sent me emails about the frames that I have put up for sale.

Unfortunately..and I should have foreseen the occurrence before launching the sale..as my computer crashed and I have not been able to get on-line for almost two and a half days. This has happened twice before, within days of going away to France, but on both occasions the actual computer crashed whereas on this occasion I have been told by the engineers that it is a dnserror stemming from a problem with the adsl line into my house. I am trying to catch up now, but am using someone elses computer.

I had hoped before the computer problem to have arranged to finalise the sales and for the frames that were to be sold to be packed and collected today- the nitty gritty about payment, despatch address etc having been sorted out on Tuesday and Wednesday. Foolishly I spent far too much time talking over the phone to line engineeers and attempting to get that problem fixed...but they didn't sort it at all.

I have to leave for France tonight in about three hours and will be away for seven weeks...it takes a long time to discover all those Herses and Singers hidden away in barns. However fellow_Lister and good friend Nelson Miller will not mind if I use his computer in Sancerre..yet again and again. I should arrive in Sancerre on Friday and will try to email all the interested Listers ASAP

As the Oracle at Delphi used to tell the Greeks - "Sh*t Happens" ..and it was correct; just look at the mess that the Greek economy is in at the moment, almost as bad as the British one.

Once again my sincere apologies..but I will do my best to sort matters out.

Norris Lockley Settle UK

PS I intend to spend some time in Lyon, where one of France's biggestbrocante/jumbles sales take place. I thought that there might be the odd REYHAND looking for a buyer.
