i have seen and ridden straight regina blocks that went 12-18 in 7 gears..so if you only wanted to go to 16 why not...you can get yourself a 54 tooth big ring as well... make the small ring 52 just for kicks..i had a super mighty crankset with a 54 tooth sugino ring...plus a 42 tooth inner...the whole concept reminds me of an incident at work ...we were building a"target"and getting to the dribs and drabs of our end of the work and the foreman suddenly decided my partner..dalton....(he had a cpl. of years on me but not that much).was no longer giving it his all..he asked me to urge him on a bit.. i knew there was no point as we were both getting laid off sooner than later but i gave him jimmy's message ( a good guy but he is the boss, in a sense) anyways .dalton looked at me and said..."you tell myreles that i only have 2 spds and if he doesn't like this one he's really going to hate the other one!!!!!!!!!!!!" in any event i'm still plodding along whatever the gears....happy easter or joy joy or whatever floats your boat...and all of my jewish compadres i hope you have enjoyed passover as well....be good..and my best to your families .....kevin ruberg howell nj usa
