The Deluxe is a lower line than the Criterium. The differences that I can see, besides the cosmetic ones:
The 1973 Criterium had: - Drop outs that are knock-offs of the Campy ones of the time period - Sugino Mighty Comp cranks - No suicide brake levers - Suntour V-GT derailleur - Suntour 14-34 freewheel (the big cog only had every other tooth) - Handle bars are a more flared touring shape - Sunshine, high-flange hubs with quick release - Taihei Compe seat post - Takahashi Panmax saddle (not necessarily better, just different) - Shifter cable stops are brazed on - Original pedals sucked. They had the reflectors on a tab that extended below the axle, increasing the chance of pedal strikes :-(
Not all of that is visible here at this site because I replaced many original parts, staring within a month after buying the bike.
