Subject: [CR] For Sale: Bill Holland Frame/Fork/BB - KOF

Up for sale is my 1990 Bill Holland steel frame with a beautiful paint job by Joe Bell. This is my prettiest frame I own, bar none. You will not find a used (or maybe new) frame in better condition (let alone one 20 years old in this condition). Bill Holland is a master frame builder out of San Diego and shares space with renowned bike painter, Joe Bell. Bill currently exclusively makes Ti frames now but told me he will make a limited run of steel bikes next year for his 40th anniversary of frame building. I purchased this bike with hopes that it would fit but, alas, it doesn't. Heartbreak.

The bike is beautiful in many ways. The paint is original but looks fresh and new. I sparkles in the sun. I would rate this frame a 9.5 out of 10 being very picky. The lug work and attention to detail are very nice. The bike even includes a matching Silca Pump painted by Joe Bell with a metal Campy head.

Made: 12/20/1990 (according to handwriting on steerer tube) Seat Tube: 59cm C-C Top Tube: 56 cm C-C Head Tube: 16 3/4 cm Drops: Shimano Bottom Bracket: Superbe Pro (top of the line SunTour, usually sell for about $70 on eBay) Matching Silca pump with Campagnolo head (works)

Now for the flaws: On the drive side chain stay the clear coat has rubbed out in a couple of small places smaller then 1/2 a dime. You can only tell by looking at the frame at differing angles. Under the bottom bracket there are a couple of places the paint has chipped off. These are small too. There are a couple of places where there are very, very small chips. These are all in areas you just can't see unless you look for them. The dropouts have paint chips from wheels being taken on and off. The inside of the left side of the fork look like Joe Bell went too heavy on the paint. I didn't even notice this until I took off the fork and wheel and then notice it in sunlight. You have to look for this to find it and is not possible to see when the bike is built. Finally, the top tube has the former owner's name under clear coat. I am really stretching and being picky here for full disclosure. It seems this bike hasn't seen much use. I was told it was kept in the bedroom and never saw the garage.
