If you assembled the parts for the build, then why not move them over to what ever bike you choose? Of course, not all of the parts will match up, given English vs Italian threading, but the main point is that the bike isn't "original" so who cares if anyone cares? And, even if I misread and the parts ARE thought to be original ... if none of them are rare or difficult to match up or acquire, then once again, who cares if anyone cares. As said so many times before on this list ... preserve special items as much as you can, but the bike and parts are yours with which to do what you want. My "vote"?: enjoy your bikes the best way you know how!

hello all

here is my problem that i would like opinions on.

i have a nice vitus road bike which i rebuilt and is pretty much a brand new bike with campag super record components from the early 80s. the frame is nice but has no decals or original badges. then i find a 1980s chrome bianchi frame with all original decals and in great condition. do i take all the parts off the vitus and put them on the bianchi or wait until i can build up the bianchi which might take years?

any thoughts
