Subject: [CR] Stolen Peugeot mixte update

Dear bikies,

My stolen 1970s white Peugeot mixte has apparently been seen - twice during the last week - around the Berkeley Flea Market.

If you are local and in north Oakland and/or Berkeley, please watch for it. There is a $200 cash reward for its safe return.

I went to the Berkeley Flea Market (BFM) this morning, armed with photo flyers and in search of my stolen 1970s white 20" Peugeot mixte. (It is one of several local "hot spots" that are well known for the quick sale of stolen bikes.)

Lo and behold, TWO different vendors who had bikes for sale there recognized the bike from my flyer. One said he saw a woman wheeling it through the BFM last Saturday morning (4-17). One said he had seen it being ridden down Ashby Avenue by a woman earlier this morning (4/24), complete with the white front rack and red panniers still attached.

I have PDF flyer about it I can email you off-list if you want one.

My beloved white 53 CM/20.5 inch Peugeot UO-18 mixte was stolen from outside of our Alameda apartment on Monday evening, April 5 between 6 and 10 PM.

It is highly customized--Campi NR cranks and Phil Wood hubs/BB, faded red Tailwind panniers, extra-long extensions on the toeclips, and much more. (See photo link below.) The bike and many components (Campi, Phil) are 1970s vintage. We go back 35 years together.

Local list members: if you see it or have any leads, call the Alameda Police Department (510-510-337-8340, report #10-02161).

I'm offering a $200 reward for the return of this bike, no questions asked. Please call me (510-864-2144 or 510-846-5356 CEL) any time if you have questions or leads on this bike.

I especially appreciate your help and support, and for watching for this bike on CraigsList, ebay, etc.

Thanks ever so much,
