Of course, sir! (there's one on the downtube of the Hetchins, for exactly that purpose. But, I still don't use an ultra-six with it...)

Back In The Day, I several times set up bikes with the Shimano spring-loaded bar-end on the left, for the front der, and a Suntour on the right for the rear der. Only later learned that the later Suntours have finer ratchets than the earlier ones (Thank you, Grant Peterson and Rivendell).
