Subject: [CR] Seat Post for Ideale IR-90

The question about British seat posts got me thinking. I recently switched my Ideale IR-90 saddle for a new Brooks saddle. This meant getting a new seat post, since the IR-90 saddle with its flat alloy rails was not compatible with the usual style seat post. The Ideale saddle had its own clamp for use with a plain post. I may have asked this before, but what post would typically have been used with the Ideale alloy-railed saddle?

I need to weigh everything again to confirm this, but I'm pretty sure my new Brooks saddle with a Simplex alloy post is significantly heavier than the old Ideale saddle and lowly Birmalux post.
