Thanks, Mark, i never noticed that an alternative color was available for the 1970 model. I have seen at least 3 of the chrome/brown/green 1970 Raleigh Grand Sports models (as depicted on that catalog page) sell on ebay. I captured the photos for one or two of those sales. Normally they sell for ridiculously low prices, like $300-$400, which is cheap for a 531 frame with factory chrome.

Carlton seemed to have had some decals that say "Grand Sports" and some that said "Gran Sport". In my experience, the bikes both came with the same parts, but nearly all the "Grand Sports" models I've seen had 531 throughout tubing. I have several ebay photo captures of the white/lagoon-blue "Grand Sports" models, often with Nervar Star cranks and simplex/normandy/atom-440 drivetrain. I think Jerry Moos has a 1977 model with an original Suntour Vx drivetrain.
