Fred,

Check out the SRAM chains, they're the successors to Sedis and Sachs.

The previous model SRAM PC48, PC58 and PC68 chains were very similar to Sedisport chains. They work well with 6, 7 and 8 speed cogs (also 5 speed freewheel too). They're still available online. The PC58 chains had nickel plated outer links and the PC68 chains were all nickel plated.

The replacement models are the SRAM PC830, PC850, PC870 and PC890 chains. They are similar to the old Shimano Ultraglide chains with wider side plates than the previous model SRAM chains.

PC870 chains have nickel plated side plates and PC890 chains are all nickel plated.

Both the older and newer SRAM chains have worked perfectly on every freewheel and cassette I've used them on.
