Earle Young - and a few other list members from the Washington, DC area - might recall my occasional inquiry as to whether they remembered an old mechanic named Adolph, who worked at Southeast Cycles in Washington, DC.
Adolph must have been about 70 years old when I met him in the 1970s. In any event, the one time I got into a lengthy discussion with him, the subject was crank cotter pin removal. His final words on the subject were nearly the same as the above quote from Earle.
