Last night I sold my NOS 1980 Alan frameset on eBay. The winning bidder has a zero feedback score and, as it turns out, is unverified with Paypal. The payment was received immediately, however Paypal is holding it for 21 days, pending buyer's satisfaction. It's a ridiculous policy but my point is not to debate that here. I sent a message to the buyer that given the zero feedback score, I simply cannot take the risk of shipping the bike to him (it is a he, I'm not gender neutralizing) until I've received payment in full. From the investigating I've done this morning (waaay too windy for a ride here), it seems Paypal is not giving either me or the buyer a lot of choice. My inclination is to refund the payment and either get payment from the zero bidder in another form (US bank check or USPS money order) or Second Chance it to the next highest bidder who has a 100% 870 score. Has anyone on the list run into this and if so, how did it get resolved? Off-list reply please unless yo u think it benefits the CR community.
