Here's an interesting shop in Newport beach. Not a lot of on-topic stuff (he caters mainly to the beach crowd), but does have an old Merxx with autographed photo; and the owner calls Eddy 'friend'. Take a look at the web site.

Thank you,

Oops..

Forgot one more for the SF area...

Uncle Crusty's in Redwood City 1042 Hopper Ave., Unit 3B Redwood City, CA

http://www.unclecrusty.biz

A small limited hours startup focused mostly on used/rebuilds - not just slap togethers - but making an effort to provide match wheels, clean frames, etc.

I've seen a few French Mixte's leave the door there...as well as some old 70's touring/road bikes that we are all familiar with.

The owner Frank Hinds does have one oddball show piece: A Huffy Aerowind? in bronze with all the original parts in almost emaculate condition. Now of course - it was department store stuff originally - but as an imitation of early Olympic style aero bikes - it does have a "novelty" to it that I think further makes this added post on-topic.
