Jon,

I'm not quite sure what you see that makes you think it is unusable. The freewheel threads look dirty but otherwise OK. Is it the oddly shaped spoke holes on the freewheel side? They are made to be like that, two spoke holes sharing a keyhole to allow a broken spoke to be replaced w/o taking off the freewheel.

The seller has a deservedly stellar reputation which usually brings healthy bidding on ebay. He also does not clean or polish the parts and bikes he sells and does not seem to suffer for it, against Dale's recent observation that sellers who do not clean up their items lose money in the bidding. Alex March (rhclassics) does present very good photos which reveal the item's condition well and he has always been correct in his statements of the condition whenever I have bought from him. I would trust his opinion about these hubs and believe that there is nothing seriously amiss with them.

At least he didn't leave the freewheel on the hub!
