Chris,

Thanks for posting those great photos! We did indeed have a great time on an absolutely beautiful day. The ride was "sort of" hilly, but lucky for me it wasn't too long. I need to start riding again. Once the construction is finished here, I will be able to return to "normal" work and functioning. It's been about 3 years of distractions and moving stuff around and I'm anxious to start catching up with my work load.

Matt Gorski is a prince among men and it was our pleasure to throw a birthday bash; primarily thanks to Sterling Peters. As it turned out David Ybarrola(local framebuilder and chairman of the International Bicycle Framebuilders Expo) had a birthday as well on that very day! We want to thank all who showed up to ride and hang out at what will become the "ultimate man cave" when completed. Once the house is finished (including THREE decks), there will be more room and more places to look around and see all sorts of projects in progress.

I would especially like to thank Greg Townsend and James Valiensi for making the trip down from the far reaches of the Los Angeles basin. Next time I'll see if I can find some slightly flatter ground for the ride so the fixed gear guys won't suffer so much. But I really enjoyed the event and do look forward to more in the future. Some day we will be able to terrorize downtown La Mesa by blasting down main street in a Bentley with people hanging out of it all over the place, shoot off water propelled bottle rockets, mow down ground squirrels with the potato gun, and other such shenanigans. Looking forward to it!

Thanks again, Chris, for documenting our first visit to Mancave Central.

Hello all,

On June 19th Brian Baylis and Sterling Peters hosted a very enjoyable event, The Matt Gorski Birthday Bike Ride Extravaganza.

It was a lot of fun, beginning with a well paced ride that included a couple of hills to keep us honest. I met many great people, renewed my acquaintance with old friends, and generally had a wonderful time. Many thanks to Brian and Sterling for kindly hosting the event, and a big Happy Birthday to Matt. Here is a link to a few photographs from the event.
