I seem to have added another Italian stallion to the collection:

1973 Pogliaghi Italcorse serial D (stamped backwards) 570 63 cm c-t

This was purchased on German eBay.

I dated this as 1973 owing to what I believe is the original chainset (with drilled chainrings) having a 73 date code and also compared to D (also with the reverse D) 574 in this Flickr album having a Pat 73 derailleur. This is said to be 9574 but to my eyes the "9" looks just the reversed "D" on my frame and in the same location.

There is also a D536 Pista on Flickr dated to 1973.

Both mine and D574 are in Faema team livery although mine suffered the indignity of having the white overpainted in gloppy silver although the red panels and headtube and decals were masked off. Anyway, it's soon off to Brian Baylis to be put right.

But my question concerns the stampings on the bb undershell: D 58 on one side and 67 on the other. Anyone know what these might refer to?

Finally, what was, if any, the preferred rim manufacturers for Pogs during this era?
