Hello and greetings from France. In 1973, I purchased a second-hand Mal Rees bicycle. It was black and had the classic Mal Rees transfers. The frame number is 6966 which I guess signifies it was the 6th frame build in June in 1966. The lug cutouts are beautiful but do not match exactly the pictures which can be found on the internet for either the Rameles, Chalfont, Amersham or Chilton models.
