I am not very clued up on the hierarchy of Italian framebuilders, so I am uncertain where this particlar builder ranks. However I have seen mentions of a certain Gino Milani among the contributions to the CR list, and have learned of his links with Pegoreti and others.
The frame in question is *Item No 110479207844*
The Paris-based seller claims that e frame is new and unused..and certainly the single large photo testifies to its good condition. it is just about possible to see the last few letters of the makers address and these appear to link up with the address of Gino Milani at San Michele near Verona. Articles I hav read in the CR Archives speak of Milani as a very skilled builde who never achieved the renown that he should have had. Claims are made tat he was responsible for one or more of Felici Gimondi's Bianchi frames.
The Ebay frame is a 53cms one, built with Prugnat long point windowed lugs and a flat top crown. The frame is very minimalistic in its presentation being finished in metallic mid blue with no other chrome plating other than the crown. The frame carries no engraving. It is very typical of an early 1970s frame...understatedly elegant.
The starting price with just under three and a hald days to go is just 150 euros with a quote of 46 euros for shipping to the States.
With this sort of reputation, the relatively cheap price to date, and the fact that the frame just fits into my range of frame sizes as a rider, I think I should be bidding on this one..but I am not as keen on Italian frames as some other CR Listers..so its over to you.
Good luck
