For sale here at Chez Charles et Carmen, circa-1980 Colnago Super in Saronni red. 56cm c-t seat; 55cm c-c top. Original paint and graphics. Extremely light, it probably comes in at just under 20 lbs. as shown.

Includes a very nice condition Del Tongo team jersey in euro size 6.

This frame was made before Colnago went to the crimped stay-ends..much more attractive than the Supers that came after.

This bike is equipped with Campagnolo Super Record throughout (except for the headset, which appears to be a high-quality, from-the-period Campagnolo-clone alloy headset). All milled and pantographed parts are period-correct, and correct for this style of frame.. Even the toe-clips are period-correct with the Colnago logo stamped in them. Also note the period-correct NOS Colnago-embossed suede saddle has a few small scuffs from storage, but has never been ridden.

Note especially the trick milled brakes with special light-weight bolts.

Frame finish presents as near-NOS. No fading. Paint color is a rich candy-red. There are a couple of minor scratches and paint blems on the inside-bottom of the seat-stays and a couple of very minor scratches on the top-tube. Parts-condition is near-NOS to lightly used.

Wheels are MAVIC OR-10 gold anodized with Vittoria CX Pro SETA tires in good condition, with plenty of miles left...yup, Vittoria silks. And they ride like it too. Gorgeous tires, not made anymore, I'm told. Regina Extra 6-speed freewheel in excellent condition. 32-spoke.

I set this bike up to be an attention-getting rider. I've ridden it probably 100 miles since getting it exactly the way I wanted it. Win a show, ride a century, the bike will do both. It's a real thoroughbred...typical of italian road-bikes of the period.

I'm pricing this at conservative part-out value for the CR list: $2500 shipped in CONUS. Worth noting that some of the parts on this bike are virtually unfindable now.

PayPal payment is ok, but add 3% to cover my cost. Personal check or postal money-order usually acceptable and preferred from CR listers.. This is a bike that will make you smile every time you look at it.

Q: "Why do people spoil everything for themselves?

A: "In big ways, and little ways too, people do that all the time to themselves. We can't stand prosperity. We have to tinker with the machinery."
