Today I got to do a walk-through of the new venue for the Seattle Bike Expo which is March 13-14. It is being held in the new Smith Cove Cruise Ship Terminal, which is HUGE. Well lit, warm, dry, plenty of bathrooms, and plenty of floor space. Two levels, maybe 20,000 square feet each. Huge. The Classic Bike Show gets a large space in the front lobby in plain view of all coming in. Room for a couple hundred bikes maybe. I hope we get that many! Interest has been strong. I spoke with Ken Taylor this week and he has his plane ticket and is very excited about coming. He will be here for three weeks! It will be fun finding things for him to do and see all that time. One thing the Bike Expo will have that is new this year is an exhibit of European Artistic Cycling. It is ballet on wheels, and is big in Holland and Germany. If you've never seen it, take a look here: http://www.youtube.com/
Also today a friend brought in her husband's 1977 Jack Taylor Tour of Britain for me to find a home for. He passed away in November. It is 60 cm, white, and equipped with Phil hubs, Weinmann concaves, Stronglight 99 triple, Huret Duopar, Suntour Bar-cons, Ideale 92, SR bar and stem. Paint and decals in good to very good shape. Needs a good going over and maybe some new cables and tape, and if I end up doing that I will ask $1500, or $1300 as is. A couple people have expressed interest already but I just want to get it out there. I will take some pics soon so let me know if interested.
