The ter High Flange is wrong and a recent renaming. They were all called Large Flange hubs and were afashion more bu track and TT riders of the pre and post war eras and are still used bytrack riders supposedly and reasonable giving a stronger wheel. The large flange hubs used in the 50s and 60s by road racers were agaion , a fashion , and I always used them myself, and still do on my Super Corsa, but ask a wheel builder and they will tell you little only opinions. I certainly couldnt tell the difference one from the other which is why they probably went out of fashion in the 70s only to come back in a smaller form nowadays. Anything ounder a 32 hole rim was considered to be for TT and track riders and not strong enough for road racing or raod sprinting, but I [and I was a sprinter] never broke a wheel and often used 28s in a sprint ,after all if you could use them on the track for sprinting, you could use them on the road.
