On the rear Paramount hub, the right flange screws onto the barrel with the same 1.37" x 24 tpi threading of the barrel as the cog. It just threads on and can be unthreaded just like a cog. The left flange is a press fit, so it can be aligned with the spoke holes between those of the well-seated right flange. In theory, if there weren't a locknut on the track cog, and it were set up loose, the flange could try to move backwards if the rider tried to backpedal. Oddly enough, the Paramount locknut is not British standard, but my accepts an Italian/Campagnolo unit.
