There's some incongruities with this bike starting with the white dove partial Columbus decal on the seat post and the CPSC quick release levers on the Campy brake calipers. Also the 1010/B Campy dropouts, where they available in 1972?

"Sophisticators" referred to scandals in the Italian food industry during the 60s and later where bread contained marble dust to make it whiter, wine that contained no grape product, butter and olive oil made from animal fat and so on.
