I'm planning on using a standard 3x pattern, and have done many 32 and 36 spoke wheels already, but am wondering if there's any additional information I should have before I start.

Spoke lenght is different and it takes longer, but apart from that it makes no difference. You still have to fill every other flangehole with a spoke and skip three holes on the rim
