As a buyer, that type of photo in an eBay auction works to my favor, not the sellers. It gives me a glimpse into the window of the seller's bike persona and how he/she treats and cares for their equipment.
I also gave some thought into Tom Adams response and that makes perfect sense to me. The reluctant seller.
By the way, I re-read my original post and apologize if it came across as condescending. It was not meant to be.
