I have used many combinations of gears and Derailleurs.My first triple was a 52/42/36 with Campy GS ,you did not get to use all combos but it did get me up the hills. Just because they say it wont work doesnt mean you should believe them. Also someone mentioned a CAMPI branded bike recently I had that very same above triple on mine.
