Well, Dale has settled this discussion... a brand, spanking new 1948 Raleigh Record Ace, joined by two Raleigh Clubmans, and oggled by a public school lad with a keen eye for such things if not the purse for them, now graces the CR home page.

This photo comes from the Life magazine archives now on Google Photos and was taken outside a cycle shop in Guildford. It is probably the best photo of a new RRA and Clubman out there with every detail captured.

Speaking of RRAs, mention was made of Ray Booty's record tt on one in 1955. Well here is that machine now in care of Alexander von Tutschek

Note the un-usual road-path drop-outs and the frame size which Alex and I both happen to share. And suspect that's about all with this exceptional British champion.
