If it's a matter of the tool being too soft, you might try hardening it. You can heat it up to "red hot" with a torch & dunk it into a bucket of oil to quench it. The problem then, is that it will probably need to be tempered so tht it isn't too brittle. If I still had my blacksmith shop, I would do it for you, but, alas . . . .
