AFAIK, The 3-pin TA Professional used the same BB as the Cylcotourist. I'm pretty sure the TA axle length for an English/French double was the same as Stronglight, 118 mm. TA and Stronglight BB's interchange well. I've often used JIS axles for TA and Stronglight cranks. They work well and push the crank out just slightly, maybe 1 to 2 mm on each side. The classic Phil BBs also work with TA and Stronglight, but I've never tried to measure whether they might position the chainline a bit different from original TA BBs. I think more recently Phil may have made more than one taper, but I don't know details.

\r?\n> Subject: [CR] Spindle for TA 3-pin crank ?

\r?\n> Ahoy !
\r?\n>
\r?\n> Some TA spindle/crank questions -
\r?\n>
\r?\n> Can someone point me to a source of information so that I
\r?\n> may determine the nominal spindle length for a TA 3-pin
\r?\n> crank (double)? English bb shell.
\r?\n>
\r?\n> Is JIS taper a match for the TA 3-pin? My recollection of
\r?\n> an old CR list discussion is that JIS will fit the TA cranks
\r?\n> but may place the crank farther out; therefore, one may want
\r?\n> to use a JIS crank 2mm shorter than the originally spec'd TA
\r?\n> spindle. Can anyone comment on this? (Oh, ditto for
\r?\n> Stronglight).
\r?\n>
\r?\n> If JIS will fit TA then, Phil Wood should fit TA because
\r?\n> Phil Wood is JIS? Can anyone confirm ?
\r?\n>
\r?\n> Thank you.
