That's really interesting. There were other bikes from Italy in the 60s and early 70s that used these lugs..no names are coming to me but I've seen a couple of them.

I think Peter's bike could be a Masi. The flattened chainstays seem very suggestive, as do the characteristic flat stay-caps, which were common enough, but sure look like Masi's work. Were there many other italian makers using those special flattened chain stays then? Can't say I've ever seen that on any other bike besides a Masi Special.

the slots in the bb shell are not the same as those on other like this that I've seen, but I don't know how significant that is.

Looks like a nice frame, in any event.
