Norris Lockley wrote in part... I noticed an original 1970s Dave Moulton for sale on UK eBay.
ITEM No: 170456018714
The frame is 20.5 inch C-to-C seat tube with a 21.5 top-tube. The design is typically uncluttered using Reynolds 531DB brazed into long-point no- windows Prugnat lugs...nice wrapover seat stay eyes. Paintwork is one colour black enamel with red lug lining..and chrome Campagnolo c vertical drop-outs...very iuderstated...set off inevitably by Dave's very classy head-tube transfer with its quadruple Ms. Frame No is M568
Current selling price is =A375, with about five days to go
I am too sure just how well remembered Dave is in the UK..we're talking some 35 years ago. The frame is advertised as a touring frame, but resembles more just a good Club-type frame with its mudguard eyes and no MAFAC bosses or pannier eyes. Mercifully the seller has not tried to pass it off as a FIXIE, which might help to keep the price down a bit.
++++
In looking at the images, even accounting for the probable distortion from the camera.. there are two images that sing out bent fork to me, draw with your eyes a parallel line from the head tube through the fork blades, looks pushed back, even though it appears still having a generous rake.
Yes? No?
