This may or may not help, but I am running Vittoria EVO XN's on my communting bike. They are Cyclocross tires, but they have a mild diamond tread that works just great on pavement and are 32C. The ones I have are an awful silver color, but I think they make black now. I have found them online for as little as $40 each.
