I tend to prefer riding On Topic sewup tires when I ride 700c tubulars, though my recent interest in older bikes has me frantic for good 27" rims ('specially 32/40 ones crumpy!)
With sewup tires I generally take very exacting care to store, and maintain these puppies. Many are maintained "pre-stretched", bagged and closeted or stashed in rim and wheel boxes in the basement. All are NOS and suitable for riding, not just looking at, though they DO look marvelous newly-mounted on fresh wheels!
I need to clear out a couple of boxes and just figured it made more sense
to offer these to CR-ites before throwing them up on squeeBay.
When I can get through the rim boxes, will find many more, all are NOS and either paer-wrapped, plastic-wrapped, or loose. Here's what I have access to now and ready to ship:
Nisi Campione, 36-hole, these polish up NICE. Non-ferruled surprisingly durable rim from oh, say the late 60's early 70's? Smooth, non-machined sidewalls, come with rim washers. 85/pair
Tires:
Clement Futurox, these are modern tread with very nice-looking tan sidewalls, I ride these often enough that I can still recommend them, 2 pair left, 65/pair
Challenge Criterium, modern tubular with tan sidewalls, 22mm, I really REALLY like these they are 300tpi and very fast, durable tires. 60 each
d'Alessandro Speciales, these are a tire that was around for a long time but sadly are no more, nice tan sidewalls, total on-topic appearance with non-modern label on the sidewall. I have ridden these more than any other tubular since I moved to Colorado, apparently the natives thought I was crazy what with goathead thorns and all but (knock on wood) haven't had a flat since I moved here 6 years ago! 1 pair only, 65 each
Clement 50's, VERY nice and fresh, stored on rims, the last pair I sold on the bay 2 years ago went to Japan for almost 400 bucks, 1 pair only $300
