Apparently there were quite a fee of these imported since I too have one. Oddly they don't appear in the catalogs, and the ones I have seen have had an assortment of components which makes me think they may have been imported as framesets, or otherwise built up or modified to suit the owner's fancy. My impression is that they are early '70's vintage. I obtained mine as a bare frame with a Stronglight Competition headset. It had remnants of pre-TI Reynolds transfers on the seattube and fork blades and the same plastic shield headbadge noted previously. While collecting period correct parts to build-up this frame I acquired another '74 Le Champion in near original condition. I then elected to convert the red/black Le Champion into a commuter with a Nexus 7 speed drivetrain, dynohub and mudguards. It provides a nice comfy ride on dark winter mornings.
