Subject: Re: [CR] Gios Torino Tubing Question

"I have a Gios Torino "Professional" circa 1985 and was wondering about the tubing the frame is made with. It has no tubing decals on it, the dropouts, head tube lug, BB and seat tube lug all have GIOS cast in them. The BB is slotted on the bottom and it came with a full-chrome fork that has GIOS cast in the sloping crown. It is unusual in that the frame is painted matte black instead of the usual Gios blue. All the other decals look in order.

Does anyone have any information about what kind of tubing this frame was made with? I would imagine it is Columbus, but I would just be guessing - and still don't know if it's SL, SP or some other inferior quality."

The 1986 GIOS brochure shows pictures of the "Professional" all bearing Columbus SL stickers.
