The Assos ri you have entioned as Very Narrow, if Im to beleive the picture,is nomore narrow than the Mavic or Fiamme rim of the period, and its a strint rim. I use these type of rims all the time and the width of the rim is governed by the type of tub used. Fiamme did use a wedge shaped , to the bottom, but the same width at the rim tyre base. Even now, the rim size is dependant on the Tub used and these rims are sprint rims.Sorry to disagree.Barrie Carter.
