No, but that's the kind of shoe I like to wear cycling, if I'm not in my Velocio sandals! The price at the equivalent of about $140.00 + shipping doesn't seem excessive, nor especially cheap. Gaudy running shoes cost as much. I wonder how the rubber sole holds up against a pedal cage? Rubber soles tend to get chewed and cut by pedal cages.

I feel lucky to have been able to get some light Carnac shoes from Wallingford (www.wallbike.com) a few years back, and hope to resole them when the time comes, no time soon. The plastic soles are flexible for walking, but tough, and have a series of ridges under the ball of the foot instead of a solid slab of shoe leather for mounting cleats with nails. No sign of splitting or cutting yet. I might spring for a leather sole when it's time to resole. Good leather really does mold to the foot, and ideally the shoe fits a bit closer all around than a walking shoe; into the clips and straps more easily, spins more easily. Light is good in classic cycling shoes.

I probably paid less than half what the Quoc Pham shoes cost, but if the leather and work is as good as those pix, they could easily be worth it, especially since I have no idea where to get something that simple and classic again. Maybe take a pair of dance shoes to a cobbler and ask them to add a leather sole?
