Somehow, I doubt he'll get the $1,600 BIN price.  Decals missing, paint a bit rough in places, and it looks bigger than 58 cm to me.  And Falcon prices tend to be dragged down by some of the dodgy stuff they made during the Bike Boom.  My much more pristine early 70's San Remo on the CR site ended, I think, not making reserve though I was high bidder, IIRC.  I negotiated a $750 price with the seller, and at the time thought I was probably overpaying, though I'm now glad I did the deal.  The 70's/early 80's San Remos are nice bikes, but I'll be surprised if this one fetches a grand.

All,

Saw this Falcon San Remo more or less by accident yesterday:

http://tiny.cc/z2jut Ebay intem: 140394830358

Looks to be all original except wheels, Campy rear mech has Pat. 73 visible in photo. Decals mostly gone, except the 'Designed by Ernie Clemtnts...San Remo" on rear stay. Rest of the equipment is spot on with what was shipped on mine, including the Brooks. Paint looks to be original.

A propos of the previous discussion re inconistencies, it has the flattened wrapover stays of the later bikes, but the ?earlier (or alternative) flat crown fork.

Apologies to the list if someone else already posted--I have only had time recently to dip in and out. (No relation to seller, etc.)
