I should have mentioned my FW is a Shimano 7-speed 14-28 and the crank is 52-42. I also had to experiment with the axle position and chain length, but ended up with the axle a bit ahead of the mid-position. I'm guessing the axle position and chain length are related, because they affect the angle of the derailleur and position of the upper jockey wheel. I also had to use about a 1 mm spacing washer under the locknut on the drive side to keep the chain from rubbing on the bottom of the seatstay.
