Robbie, have you considered producing the Mafac full hoods like on later Competition, etc? I believe these models had the adjuster threaded into the lever body, not part of the hood, very similar to Universal. So the hoods should be able to be produced with no more difficulty than Universal. As to the market, I think it would make sense for a group of CR members to "commision" and prepay for a production run large enough to make it economic. We've done this before on CR jerseys and some other jerseys, or at least solicited preoders as with te recent Jack Taylor jerseys, which are great by the way, and the Rene Herse jerseys just completed. I've commmissioned repro decals and repro Cinelli seatbolts in the pasts.
I have several pairs of later Mafac levers plus one pair on the way that the CR seller cautioned me may have some hood issues. I'd prepay for several pairs of a Mafac full hood production run and I think some other CR members would as well.

greetings
jays right . no way to produce mafac hoods. cost would be to great and there still exists plenty nos on the market. other than campy gum colored hoods there is no other market even worth looking at. still sitting on universal hoods. had thought about making campy shifter boots in a bunch of colors but the LSD wore off.
other than just having some fun with the hoods the markets are to small
thanks
