This discussion reminds me why Super Record was essentially vapor ware back then. For possibly two basic reasons, the ti parts were late in comparison to the cranks, headset, brakes and seat posts, and for the $ spent there was little incentive to purchase.

There was little to be gained with the ti bits, one could install Arnold Industries alloy bolts and get more weight loss for much less money. The crank spindles had a reputation for being flexy, at the shop we could not understand why Campagnolo kept the same profile on the pedal axles as the steel versions as ti was going to flex more for the same diameter, so it was a hard sell.

The shop racers stayed with the superleggere pedals, seat post, and some used the Arnold stem quill bolt, as it did not show rust. For that special race, an exotic freewheel was going to be a better answer for weight savings.

But then again, the 50th anniversary group was not admired on club rides either when it came out. Fashion moves.
