Coming in on the tail end of this thread (to which I responded to Dale at the beginning) -- I have an early 70's Paramount that was sent back to the factory for a bottom bracket replacement. It was repainted and had the "new, updated" decals installed... the decals that came out in the '76/'77 era... so the repairs and repaint were done in the same era. It has beautiful red lug lining on the black finish... a very fine line of red, just a bit out from the chrome lug, leaving a very fine line of black between the lug and the lining... it looks as if it were done by a machine, it is so perfect. So, my assumption is that there was still someone around who could do this work in the late '70's?
Has anybody asked Mark Mattei about this issue?
