Ebay has been doing their darndest to increase the number of auction listings, providing free and discounted listing incentives, for the past 3 months.

In fact, something that I had been selling for the past 12 months every 2 weeks, now has failed to sell for the past 1.5 months, so I think this over-emphasis of quality over quantity is hurting sellers.

Typically over the past few years there were 90,000 - 110,000 items for sale in Sporting Goods > Outdoor Sports > Cycling. Today, there are 230,000 items for sale in this category.

Quantity over Quality. Maybe Meg Whitman needs extra funds for her California Governor's Race? She has promised to spend "whatever it takes, i.e. $150M on the CA governor's race !!"

P.S. In other areas, I supposedly sold a brooks swift saddle to Canada. It disappeared and I was forced to give the seller a refund. It has been used only about 3 times, and had sold for $170, in like-NOS condition with no flaws. The insurance fees to send something across the Canadian border are VERY high, like $25, or 15% of the purchase price in my case, and I did not insure it.
