The subject appears to have reached its peak perhaps to be raised again at a
later date , we hope! Most of subject now concluded was being active on the
anniversary of 65 years of peace in Europe, ie.VE Day , what a coincidence!
My own interest in cycling was belonging to a registered National Cyclist Union
club throughout my racing days when time trialing and pursuit riding on the track.
As for my bike, I rode a Hill Special road path model which served both purposes.
This was equipped with all British made ascessories and ridden fixed gearing at
all times including all distance time trials which included a 12 hours event to
qualify for the County of Sussex best allrounder competition. The NCU ruling on
riders was very strict and any rider breaking those rules was dealt with severely.
I'll pass on the subject regarding the BLRC as they were of no interest to me
at the time or since. Whilst serving in the RAF I met many of their members
so you can imagine the banter that went on, they tried to convince me but
they failed on all counts!!
Thanks to all those who contacted me off list great to hear from you.
