is it true or a myth that if you ride a cottered crank long enough the cotter pin will eventually shear off?
Not (necessarily) true, if the cotters are correctly installed!!

i am not a fan of the cottered crank; is it true or a myth that if you ride a cottered crank long enough the cotter pin will eventually shear off? i like the looks of the cotterless crank better, much cleaner. anyways there is a 1966 bottechia 52cm center to center seat tube w a cottered crank on ebay right now item number 1404 0711 4107 w 6 days left. i do not know the seller or have anything to do w the sale, blah, blah, blah. burl simon in detroit michigan united states
